Warehouse Market Halifax

This is an exceptional time. We are coming together as local producers to maintain our farms, local food systems, and way of life, going in these extenuating circumstances. More than ever our connections with farms and harvesters are reinforced as our most basic relationships. This is what the Warehouse Market is here for. We are uniquely positioned to be able to offer home deliveries and pickups of some of the best products the province has to offer. Please be patient with us as we roll out this new platform during this time. In order for us to get this off the ground quickly, while maintaining our customer service we have restricted choice to some basic, all encompassing boxes.

This Warehouse Market online platform to buy local is an extension of our existing Warehouse Market. The physical space of the Warehouse Market was created in 2017 when Afishionado Fishmongers, Abundant Acres Farm, and Holdanca Farms came together to make fresh, local, and sustainable food accessible to Haligonians.

Holdanca Farms

Under the direction and management of John Duynisveld and his family, Holdanca Farms is proud to supply your family with pasture-raised free range meat and eggs.

All Holdanca Farms livestock are raised on feeds free of animal by-products, antibiotics, and hormones. Access to fresh air, green grass and sunshine ensures a healthier and more humane method of producing a quality product.

Our livestock are processed at government inspected facilities and are certified free range. The guidelines for the ‘free range’ designation were developed by provincial poultry marketing boards, and all other Holdanca Farm produce are voluntarily raised under the same guidelines, to assure the best quality meat at your dinner table.

Holdanca Farms manages the other meat products that are available through our on-line platform. John is working with other local meat suppliers to get their products on our marketplace. As much as possible we will communicate on each box the provenance of each meat box.

Abundant Acres Farm

Abundant Acres Farm is focused on high quality, ecologically grown produce. We farm on six acres of land in beautiful Centre Burlington, Nova Scotia.

With seven greenhouses and cold storage, we sell our own vegetables year round. In addition, we buy in local and imported organic produce, offering the best selection of fruits and vegetables possible.

Eight full time employees work with Jen and David Greenberg.  Ecologically managed since 1993, the farm is a place of beauty, learning, and Abundance!

Afishionado Fishmongers

‘Aficionado’ A person who is very knowledgeable about and enthusiastic about an activity, subject, or past time.

Here at Afishionado Fishmongers we are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about our favourite subject- transparent and sustainably sourced seafood! We are your community-minded provider of fresh and fresh-frozen seafood, dedicated to bringing low-impact fishing traditions back to the plates of consumers. For us, knowing the story behind the fish we sell is paramount. We follow Ocean wise recommendations as our main guide, a classification that ensures responsibility to a fishery’s abundance and catch method. We source locally, as much as we can, by building solid relationships with our region’s small-scale, community based fishers and aquaculturalists.

We are also a farming family. Hana Nelson (founder of Afishionado) and Philip Docker run and operate ShanDaph oysters, a boutique shellfish farm on the North Shore of Nova Scotia. ShanDaph is the only completely off the grid and solar-powered shellfish farm in Atlantic Canada!
